Rafael Hernández compuso 'El Cumbanchero' en 1943, y desde entonces es uno de los números más frenéticos y festivos de la guaracha puertorriqueña. Tito Puente, Celia Cruz y mil bandas de salsa lo han interpretado; el grito '¡Cumbanchero!' sobre Sol menor es convocatoria universal a la fiesta.
