José Alfredo Jiménez, el rey del mariachi, compuso 'El Rey' en 1971 como declaración de orgullo desgarrado: 'con dinero y sin dinero hago siempre lo que quiero'. Es el vals ranchero más famoso de México y quizás de toda América Latina, cantado en bodas, cantinas y serenatas. F# major pushes guitarists into full barre territory at fret 2 and beyond. No open chords exist naturally, but the key rewards advanced players with dark, powerful voicings.
